Series: Serving Stories

Is ok to want your name to be recognized and remembered? Or, is that ego and pride? Is it ok to want to be known? Or, were you created to be forgotten, insignificant, and finally blotted out of all memory? Every person has a deep God-given desire for significance, to leave their mark upon the world. Yet, this is often twisted into an ego-driven competition to be the greatest. Jesus shows us that the way to establish a name that will be recognized forever is through humility and serving others. Though Jesus was God, He “made himself of no reputation, taking the nature of a servant…Therefore God exalted Him… and gave Him the name that is above every name…”.
