Have you ever been surprised by an unexpected dinner guest? Perhaps someone called and imposed upon you, leaving you no choice but to say yes! Did it just happen this Thanksgiving holiday? Or what about that special friend you haven’t heard from or seen in years? Did they ever call you out of the blue to tell you they missed you? Well, Abraham experienced something similar when three unannounced men visited him one day. Scripture reveals that one “man” in the group was actually the Lord himself. And how did Abraham respond you might ask? He acted out of a heart of hospitality and served them gladly. Who has God sent into your life, perhaps unexpectedly, that he wants you to minister to? Hebrews 13:2 reminds us, “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.”
