Series: Serving Stories

Our life is driven by our interests, the things we crave. And, there is always among all our desires, one that is the main driving force. Timothy came to Christ as a young adult when his cravings for career, success, sex, reputation, happiness and wealth were at their peak. The apostle Paul came to town telling about Jesus. When Timothy received Jesus into his life the core driving interest of his life radically changed. He craved pleasing Jesus and serving others above everything else. He became known as a person who took a “genuine interest” in the welfare of others. People trusted his motives. It was his freedom from self-interest that qualified him to serve in the work of the good news of Jesus.
