Government is God’s idea. It is true that fallen human nature corrupts political systems, and creates imperfect (and sometimes very evil) governments. But, God has delegated authority to government in order to uphold justice, enforce laws, and protect rights. Governments are responsible to properly use the authority God has delegated to them within boundaries of common morality and justice. Christians are responsible to respect leaders and laws, and to be an influence for mercy and justice in the societies in which they live.
