We are to be diligent in paying our debts. This includes our taxes, utility bills, car payments, mortgage payments and all that we owe. The great thing about paying bills is that the more you pay the less you owe, until finally, you pay them off and no longer owe anything. Your debt is paid. But, God says there is one debt that no matter how much you pay on it, you never pay it off. In fact, you never owe less no matter how many payments you make. It is the “continuing debt to love one another”. You never pay down your debt to love others in such a way that there is a person you can choose to love less, or to finally not love at all.
